A Desperate Call to Focus and Not Miss the Moment

A Desperate Call to Focus and Not Miss the Moment

A Desperate Call to Focus and Not Miss the Moment

As we grapple with the horrific and senseless acts of evil that have shaken us in recent days and weeks, I want to pause and speak to both our hearts and our spirits. Whether we think of the tragedy connected to Iryna Zarutska, the attack on Charlie Kirk, or countless others past, present, and yet to come, one undeniable truth stands before us: darkness and evil is the real adversary.

First, I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and communities affected by these tragedies. Our prayers are with you. We grieve alongside you and pray that God’s comfort, peace, and healing presence will surround you in this difficult time. To the nation at large, may we come together with empathy, compassion, and unity, and may these moments of sorrow also awaken hope and determination to stand for justice, love, and righteousness.

One person claimed there was material in him that drove him to carry out the act of evil; another was empowered by evil humanist indoctrination, anger, rage, and hate. But at the root of both is the same destructive power, darkness. Evil forces are at work in our world, and they are not to be ignored or taken lightly.

The Bible reminds us,

“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12, NLT)

Our fight is not against one another. It is not against ethnicity, status, or political sides. Our fight is against evil, and the only way to defeat it is with the light of Jesus the Christ.

I urge us today not to misdirect our rage, anger, or even our prayers toward each other. Instead, let us aim them at the true enemy. For the love of Jesus, for the sake of humanity, and for the healing of our country, do not let these tragedies divide the body of Christ. Let them unite us, and let them make us more determined than ever to spread the truth, hope, and encouragement of the gospel.

The world desperately needs Jesus. It needs hope, healing, deliverance, love, truth, and light. It needs authentic disciples of Jesus to rise and shine brightly. Darkness cannot cast out darkness, only light can expose it and overcome it.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” (John 1:5, NLT)

Let us bring salt and light to every table, every conversation, and every community. Let kindness become our intentional choice every day. Let our words and actions reflect Christ in such a way that the world cannot help but recognize Him through us. Let our encouragement and hope lift those who are grieving and suffering.

“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:35, NLT)

This is the time to be Christian first, not ethnicity, not political alignment, not personal agendas. Christ above all. This is when it truly matters.

So Church, rise to the occasion. Be the light. Choose love, truth, prayer, kindness, faith, hope, righteousness, unity, peace, compassion, inclusion, courage, and boldness. Let us wage war on our knees in prayer and through intentional acts of love. Let us declare Jesus boldly, without shame, and flood the world with the hope of the gospel. Let us be a source of encouragement and hope to every family and friend affected, and to our nation as a whole.

This is our moment to shine for Christ. Do not mess it up. Do not miss it. United we stand, divided we fall.

God bless you all. Let's go Church!.

Summary

We cannot ignore the truth, evil is real, and it is at work in our world, bringing pain, fear, and division. The recent tragedies we have witnessed are a wake-up call, not just to see the darkness around us, but to recognize our responsibility as followers of Jesus. Our battle is not against one another, but against the forces of evil that seek to destroy hope, truth, and love.

Church, the time for half-hearted faith is over. We cannot afford to remain silent, passive, or divided. Now is the moment to stand boldly, courageously, and united as disciples of Christ. To be salt where bitterness spreads, to shine light in the darkest corners, to choose love over hate, truth over lies, and unity over division.

This is our calling, and our opportunity to show a hurting world that Jesus is real, that His light overcomes darkness, and that His love transforms hearts. We cannot wait, we cannot hesitate. The world is watching, and God has entrusted us with hope, healing, and truth. Let us rise together as the unmistakable light of Christ, offering consolation, encouragement, and hope to families, friends, and our nation.

And PLEASE remember to keep these passages at the forefront of your heart and mind as we navigate the days, weeks, months, and years ahead.

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil.

Then, after the battle, you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT
