🇯🇲 JAMAICA BUILDING BACK STRONGER

🇯🇲 JAMAICA BUILDING BACK STRONGER

🇯🇲 JAMAICA BUILDING BACK STRONGER

Hurricane Melissa came like a thief in the night

invading our shores, ravaging our island home,

pulling back the curtain on our weaknesses,

exposing our vulnerabilities,

and yet… revealing our opportunity to rise higher than before.

The weak, the fragile, the forgotten, the underserved

Now stand in the center of the frame.

The unseen is finally being seen.

Hands that once passed them by

are now stretched toward them in compassion.

Board houses are being transformed into concrete hope.

Container homes are sailing toward our shores,

carrying new beginnings in their belly.

Our people are rising.

Our government is steady.

The Church has stepped in.

Our entertainers have stepped up.

And the diaspora mobilized like an army of love

moving with passion, compassion resources, and unity.

Yes, we mourn.

We grieve the lives lost.

We ache for the hungry, the hurting, the homeless

those waiting for help that cannot come soon enough.

We carry their pain as our own.

But even in the ashes, we rise as one people

answering the call with courage.

So did Melissa truly destroy us?

Or did she awaken us

revive us, renew us,

remodel us, reshape us,

and spark the catalyst we needed

to build a more God-centered,

faithful, compassionate, healthy, modern,

Prosperous and resilient Jamaica?

So tell me?

What lens do you see Jamaica through?

Because our beautiful island home will rise from the ashes stronger

Our spirits are being made stronger

We will not crumble.

Jamaica is building back stronger,

rooted in faith,

moved by compassion,

held together by love,

strengthened by our shared struggle

and the victories behind us

and the victories still ahead.

Come on Jamaica…

let’s rise and rebuild together.

One God.

One People.

One Purpose.

United forever. 🇯🇲

Building back stronger!
