To the Younger Me, the Me of Today, and the Me I Am Becoming

To the Younger Me, the Me of Today, and the Me I Am Becoming

In this life, there will be people audacious enough to believe, think, and act as though they are the authority and author of your life. These individuals will attempt to impose their version of how the world should be seen, lived, and navigated, presenting it as the best or only way.

This assertion comes in many forms. Some are overt, others covert. Some arrive gently, while others come assertively or even aggressively. Regardless of the delivery, mindfulness and awareness are essential tools. They help you recognize these narratives for what they are and navigate away from what is unkind, limiting, or misaligned with who God created you to be.

Know Who God Says You Are

Study and learn the Word of God. Discover who He says you are before the world tries to define you. At the same time, study yourself. Know your strengths and your weaknesses. Own every version of who you are, past, present, and becoming.

Work diligently to become more like Jesus, not more like others. Do not allow anyone to weaponize your weaknesses, your failures, or your past. Stand boldly and courageously in who you are and in the God of your salvation.

Redeem Your Story

Do not allow guilt or shame to steal the lessons from your story. Every experience holds meaning when surrendered to God. Own and reframe even the painful chapters into testimonies that bring growth, wisdom, and transformation.

Let your story become a living narrative of redemption, healing, and purpose.

Walk in Love With Wisdom

Above all, love God with all your heart. Love people. Forgive daily. Do not allow the darkness you experienced to live within you.

Champion the unseen and the unheard but do so with wisdom. Not everyone who claims victimhood is truthful. Many have learned to manipulate narratives, casting themselves as either villain or hero to justify their actions. Proceed with discernment, allowing the Spirit of the Lord to lead and order your steps.

Remember, every fight is not of God or yours to engage in. Seek God’s guidance daily and engage only in the battles He has signed off on.

Let Christ Be Your Way of Life

Let love, grace, truth, righteousness, holiness, compassion, mercy, kindness, and wisdom define how you live. Commit daily to learning, unlearning, healing, growing, and changing.

Choose to remain pliable, humble, and fully surrendered at the feet of Jesus. He is and will always be your safest place to abide.

Keep the Mission in Sight

Never lose sight of the mission and the vision. For Christ I live and die. Let your greatest desire be to one day hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Live in ways that align with that eternal goal.

Do as much good as you can in the world as you navigate it. Do not allow the darkness in people or in the world to depress you. The Bible tells us that hope deferred makes the heart sick, so refuse despair and keep hope alive.

A Prayer of Gratitude and Surrender

Jesus, I honor and adore You. Thank You for Your loving kindness and tender mercy. Thank You for Your grace, Your sacrifice, Your forgiveness, and the gift of salvation. Thank You for the miracles and blessings You have given me and for allowing me to see another year of life.

Thank You for those who stayed and those who left. Thank You for those who treated me well and those who mishandled me. It all worked together for my good.

Please continue to lead, guide, and order my steps according to Your Word and Your divine will, purpose, and plan.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. 🙏❤️🩷
